How It’s Delivered

Get Set Education offers three delivery modes, depending on your needs, class sizes and location.

In-Classroom - The school’s qualified Trainer/Assessors deliver and assess BSB50215 Diploma of Business within the classroom during your timetabled lessons. Teachers must have TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, relevant Business qualifications and current industry experience.

Trainer-led - One of our qualified trainers will visit students in their classroom to deliver the BSB50215 Diploma of Business training face-to-face with contact hours that suit timetables and course requirements. This is ideal for local South-east Queensland schools with a minimum of 10 students, but no available Trainer/Assessors to run the course.

100% Online Classroom – Students log in and work on the course anywhere, anytime, with scheduled virtual lessons with a qualified Get Set Trainer/Assessor.

 

Entry Requirements

Get Set Education requires learners to meet the following entry requirements:

  • Year 10 pass in English
  • Average effort mark of a B across subjects
  • The ability to find a suitable workplace to complete industry hours
  • Access to a computer or laptop to access the online learning platform
  • An interest in business subjects
  • Suitable levels of Language, Literacy and Numeracy
  • Permission from parent/guardian if under 18 years of age
  • Get Set Education conducts an Initial Skills Assessment via an online LLN assessment. Each school also conducts a suitability check to assist in preparing individual learning plans where skills weaknesses are identified.

 

Units of Competency

The BSB50215 Diploma of Business requires the completion of 8 elective units of competency.

The units offered by Get Set Education have been selected for their relevance to current work environments and the qualification, whilst ensuring they maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

Students must complete the first 7 units listed below:

BSBMKG501 Identify and evaluate marketing opportunities
BSBRSK501 Manage risk
BSBADM506 Manage business document design and development
BSBFIM501 Manage budgets and financial plans
BSBPMG522 Undertake project work
BSBMKG508 Plan direct marketing activities
BSBHRM506 Manage recruitment, selection and induction processes

and then choose from 1 of the following additional electives:

BSBEBU511 Develop and implement an e-business strategy
BSBSUS501 Develop workplace policy and procedures for sustainability
BSBSMB404 Undertake small business planning

 

Work Experience

Students are required to complete a practical component as part of their course. Students need to log a total of 160 hours of work experience, spread over at least 20 shifts, in an industry that’s relevant to the qualification.

Work experience could include:

  • Involvement in a practical venture at the student's school
  • Hours worked at an existing part time job (if it is relevant to the qualification)
  • Placement with a local business

This is a chance for students to get valuable, real-world experience, putting into practice the knowledge they have learned throughout the course.
